Shoreline Schools Celebrations Wednesday, June 5

Plans are coming together for one celebratory evening to honor Shoreline School District staff, both past and present!

On Wednesday, June 5, we will host our customary retirement celebration and Staff of the Year Awards events.

    • Retirement Reception: 5-6:00 
    • Mingling and Refreshments: 6-7:00 
    • Staff of the Year Awards Presentation: 7-8:30

Staff of the Year Award winner notifications are complete! The following award winners have been surprised by Superintendent Susana Reyes to let them know of their selection and invitation to be honored on June 5.

2024 Staff of the Year Award Winners:

  • Elementary Educator: Michelle Hageland, Resource Room Teacher, Ridgecrest Elementary School
  • Secondary Educator: Christina Nelson, Special Education Teacher, Einstein Elementary School
  • Educational Specialist: Bess Tanaka, Dean of Students, Brookside Elementary School
  • Early Learning Educator: Haeli Higgins, School Psychologist, Edwin Pratt Early Learning Center
  • Paraeducator: Jane Seslar, Meridian Park Elementary School
  • Support Staff: Marianne Stephens, College and Career Specialist, Shorewood High School
  • Office Staff: Joanne Olson, Registrar, Lake Forest Park Elementary School
  • Administrator: Dan Gallagher, Director of Secondary Academic Programs & Career and Technical Education
  • Community Partner: Power of One, represented by Ridgecrest volunteers David Bunn and Nancy Willis and program coordinator Terry Monette

These events are open to staff, students, families, and community members who would like to join in recognizing these outstanding employees and all that they do to support our Shoreline School District community.
